Salvador Beltran Killed after Wrong-Way Accident in Walla Walla County

 
WALLA WALLA COUNTY, WA (October 10, 2024) — A 28-year-old Pasco man, identified as Salvador Beltran, died in a wrong-way accident on Saturday, September 21.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the incident occurred on Highway 12 at around 3:10 a.m.
 
WSP said 40-year-old Caitlin Bailey, of Athena, Oregon, drove in the wrong direction toward Pasco on Highway 12. Then, her Hyundai crashed head-on into Beltran’s Toyota Scion about 10 miles southeast of Pasco in Walla Walla County.
 
First responders said Beltran died before they could transport him to a hospital.
 
Meanwhile, paramedics brought Bailey to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland for treatment of sustained injuries.
 
Officers said both drivers wore seat belts.
 
The WSP continues to investigate the accident as a vehicular homicide. Charges are pending, WSP said.
