Roy Woods Identified in Fatal Motorcycle Accident on FM 279 in Edom

 
EDOM, TX (October 2, 2023) – Officers identified 58-year-old Roy Lewis Woods of Ben Wheeler who died in a motorcycle accident on FM 279 on September 23.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened just 3 miles west of Edom. Based on a report, Woods was driving a 2022 Harley Davidson motorcycle west on FM 279 prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, 63-year-old Karla Kay Coyle of Brownsboro was driving a 2012 Ford F-150 in the eastbound lane. Due to unknown reasons, Woods failed to take a curve and hit Coyle’s Ford.
 
As a result, Woods sustained grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
Coyle had non-incapacitating injuries.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
