Ronald Dixon Killed after Peoria Car Crash on Highway 74

 
PEORIA, AZ (September 2, 2024) — A 22-year-old Las Vegas man identified as Ronald Dixon died in a two-car accident on Thursday, August 22.
 
Peoria Police and Peoria Fire-Medical department’s officers responded to the crash site near Highway 74 and Lake Pleasant Parkway at around 3:53 p.m.
 
Early investigation determined that the driver of a black F-150 moved eastbound on Highway 74. Then it entered the intersection of Lake Pleasant Parkway. At the same time, a silver Hyundai Sonata traveled westbound in the left-turn lane on Highway 74. The two vehicles crashed in the middle of the intersection.
 
Paramedics transported both passengers of the Sonata to a nearby hospital. Dixon, who was one of the passengers, died from sustained injuries at the hospital. The other unnamed passenger’s condition was not immediately available.
 
Meanwhile, the driver and sole occupant of the F-150 was not hurt.
 
The F-150 driver stayed on the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
 
Officials closed the area until regular traffic resumed at 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
 
The Peoria Police Department’s Traffic Services Unit handles the investigation of the incident.
