Roman Ortega, Jazmin Mada Killed in Tucson Car Accident
TUCSON, AZ (January 30, 2025) — Roman Ortega and Jazmin Daniela Gonzalez Mada died in a car accident on Tuesday, January 21.
According to the Tucson Police Department, the crash occurred around 9:00 p.m. on West Starr Pass Boulevard near South Flowering Cactus Court.
Tucson Police said that Ortega drove a red 2016 Ford Fiesta eastbound at a high rate of speed. Then he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. After that, he crashed into a tree.
Emergency responders arrived and pronounced 32-year-old Roman Ortega and 29-year-old Jazmin Daniela Gonzalez Mada dead at the scene. Police confirmed that neither of them wore a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
Investigators found evidence of alcohol consumption at the site and suspect impairment as a factor.
The Tucson Police Department continues to investigate the crash.
