Roel Solis Identified in Fatal DUI Crash on West Nolana Loop in Pharr
PHARR, TX (November 28, 2023) – Officials identified 22-year-old Roel Solis who died in a DUI crash in the 700 block of West Nolana Loop on November 18.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near the 69c Freeway. Based on a report, a Chevrolet Malibu exited the Monarch apartments and failed to yield the right of way.
Subsequently, the Malibu struck a Ford Expedition that was traveling east on Nolana Loop.
As a result, Solis, who was occupying the front passenger seat of the Malibu, died in the incident.
Police arrested the driver of the Malibu, identified as 22-year-old Yosmara Garcia, on one count of intoxication manslaughter and one count of unlawful carrying of a weapon. Her bond was set at $105,000.
The occupants in the Expedition reported no major injuries.
