Rodolf Drosche Fatally Injured in Gatesville ATV Accident on Highway 36

 
GATESVILLE, TX (June 20, 2024) — 82-year-old Rodolf Carl Drosche, of Gatesville, died in an ATV accident on Saturday, June 8.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash involving a truck and an ATV took place on Highway 36 near County Road 358 at about 11:00 a.m.
 
Texas DPS said Drosche drove a Honda FourTrax ATV Off-Road Highway Vehicle at a rural mailbox to get his mail on a private drive. At the same time, a 2012 Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by a 64-year-old Gatesville man moved eastbound approaching the ATV.
 
Texas DPS said the ATV failed to yield the right of way. Then the driver pulled into the direction of the truck and crashed with it.
 
Paramedics transported Drosche to the Hillcrest Hospital in Waco where a medical officer later pronounced him dead. Officers have already notified his next of kin.
 
Texas DPS continues to investigate the incident.
