Roberto Mendoza Dies in Pedestrian Accident Involving 18-Year-Old Juan Sanchez in El Paso

 
EL PASO, TX (September 30, 2022) – Police identified 44-year-old Roberto Mendoza as the victim who died in an accident in the 9000 block of Montana Avenue on September 25.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at approximately 12:42 AM.
 
Based on a report, Mendoza was crossing the street outside of a crosswalk at the time of the crash. As he crossed from south to north, police said 18-year-old Juan Sanchez of East El Paso drove eastbound and struck the victim.
 
As a result, Mendoza of El Paso died in the incident.
 
El Paso Police said poor lighting and crossing outside of the crossing at a crosswalk contributed to the fatality.
