37-Year-Old Man Killed in Las Vegas Motorcycle Crash on Jimmy Durante Boulevard

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (January 18, 2024) — A 37-year-old man sustained fatal injuries in a motorcycle accident on Jimmy Durante Boulevard on Monday, January 15.
 
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the incident took place at Jimmy Durante Boulevard and East Tropicana Avenue just after 3:00 p.m.
 
The LVMPD said an RTC bus traveled east on Tropicana Avenue. Then it tried to make a left turn onto Jimmy Durante. At the same time, the driver of a 2012 Honda motorcycle moved west on Tropicana rode at a high rate of speed. Then he ran a red light at the intersection and collided with the bus.
 
The impact ejected the man from his motorcycle. Emergency responders later pronounced him dead on the scene.
 
Police confirmed that everyone inside the RTC bus was not hurt. In addition, the bus driver did not show any signs of impairment.
 
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
 
The incident is the ninth traffic-related fatality in the LVMPD jurisdiction in 2024.
