PHOENIX, AZ (January 3, 2024) — A 38-year-old man identified as Ricardo Arambula in a pedestrian accident on Friday, December 20.
 
According to the Phoenix police, the incident occurred shortly after 7:00 p.m. near 7th Street and Beardsley Road.
 
The initial investigation suggests a truck driver struck Arambula while he was on the road. It is unclear if Arambula was in a marked crosswalk when the truck hit him.
 
As a result, Arambula fell to the ground and another car hit him.
 
When officers arrived, they discovered Arambula with critical injuries. They then pronounced him dead at the scene.
 
Police say the driver of the truck displayed signs of intoxication. The driver of the car did not.
 
There have been no arrests made yet. Police said the charges are pending further review and lab analysis.
