44-Year-Old Rebecca Maes Killed in Pueblo Pedestrian Accident

 
PUEBLO, CO (November 15, 2024) — 44-year-old Rebecca Maes died in a pedestrian accident on Saturday, November 2.
 
According to the Pueblo Police Department, the accident occurred on 25 Freeway near 13th Street at about 6:45 a.m.
 
PPD said that the investigation determined that Maes walked in the southbound lanes of traffic south of 13th Street. Then a vehicle struck her and knocked her down.
 
After that, a second vehicle struck her while in the roadway. Maes sustained fatal injuries and died.
 
Authorities closed the southbound 25 Freeway at 13th Street during the investigation and cleanup. They reopened it at about 10:30 a.m.
 
Officials continue to investigate the incident.
