SPOKANE, WA (January 14, 2025) — Authorities arrested 56-year-old Raymond Jones after a head-on accident on Sunday, January 5.
 
According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened at about 4:30 p.m. near Doak Road and Argonne Road.
 
SCSO said Jones drove a northbound Ford F-150 erratically on Argonne Road. Then Jones crossed the centerline near the intersection with Doak Road.
 
After that, it crashed nearly head-on with a southbound vehicle carrying three occupants — two adults and a teenager.
 
The 17-year-old passenger sustained serious but minor injuries as a result of the collision. Emergency responders transported the victim to a hospital for treatment.
 
Jones reportedly told deputies he believed another car hit him and thought he drove on Bigelow Gulch Road when the crash happened. He said he was on the way home after stopping for a drink. Additionally, he said he consumed a shot of whiskey and several beers. Deputies noted that Jones smelled of alcohol.
 
Deputies obtained a search warrant for a blood sample from Jones. Then they booked Jones into the Spokane County Jail on suspicion of vehicular assault. A judge set his bond at $25,000.
