Randy Long Fatally Struck by Vehicle in Laveen Village

 
LAVEEN VILLAGE, AZ (June 12, 2023) – The Phoenix Police Department identified 55-year-old Randy Long who died in a pedestrian accident on 52nd Avenue on June 2.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Baseline Road around 4:30 AM. Based on a report, Long was crossing Baseline at an area outside a crosswalk at the time of the crash.
 
When he was mid-block, a vehicle that was traveling westbound hit him.
 
As a result, officers located Long with serious injuries. Crews transported him to a local hospital, where he later died.
 
The vehicle involved in the collision remained on scene.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
