Ramon Torres Identified in Fatal Motorcycle Accident on 10 Freeway in El Paso

EL PASO, TX (June 20, 2024) – Officials identified 43-year-old Ramon Espinoza Torres of Anthony who died in a motorcycle accident on 10 Freeway on May 31.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near the Copia Street exit. Based on a report, Torres was driving a 2012 Yamaha YZF-R6 sports motorcycle at a high speed at the time of the crash.

He was speeding and weaving in and out of traffic. When traffic slowed down, he made an evasive maneuver to avoid crashing into the rear of a semi-truck. At that point, he lost control and crashed. The motorcycle slid across the freeway and it slammed into a guardrail with him.

After hitting the guardrail, the motorcycle slid back into a lane of traffic, where it was then hit by 55-year-old driven by Emerald Mae Perez of Canutillo who was driving a Chevrolet Malibu.

As a result, Torres suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.

Perez and her passenger, 38-year-old Elsa Alaniz of Northeast El Paso, were not hurt.

As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
