Driver Wanted in Fatal Hit-and-Run on East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at Haynie Avenue in Tyler

 
TYLER, TX (November 17, 2023) – The Tyler Police Department confirmed that a pedestrian died in a hit-and-run on East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard on November 13.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Haynie Avenue shortly before 10:00 AM. Based on a report, the victim was near the intersection at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle struck the victim and fled the scene. Troopers believed the vehicle was a maroon or burgundy GMC Yukon or Chevrolet Tahoe SUV with possible front-end damage.
 
As a result, the pedestrian suffered grave injuries in the incident. Emergency crews transported the victim to UT Health Hospital, where he later died. Officials did not yet release his name, pending kin notification.
