Pedestrian Fatally Injured after Denver Hit-and-Run on 225 Freeway

 
DENVER, CO (July 31, 2024) — A pedestrian suffered fatal injuries in a hit-and-run on 225 Freeway on Tuesday, July 16.
 
According to the Denver Police Department, the incident occurred on 225 Freeway near Yosemite Street at around 2:29 a.m.
 
Denver Police said a driver moved southbound on 225 Freeway. Then they allegedly hit a pedestrian who was on the roadway. It is not yet determined why the pedestrian was on the freeway.
 
Responding officers said the pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and died. Officials have not yet released the victim’s identity.
 
The driver, who was allegedly in a semi-truck, fled the scene without checking on the pedestrian.
 
Denver Police said it is also possible that multiple vehicles struck the pedestrian.
 
As a result of the crash, authorities closed the southbound 225 Freeway at Yosemite Street near the Cherry Creek Reservoir for more than two hours.
 
Denver police ask anyone with information on the driver or the suspected vehicle to call the Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters can stay anonymous and still be eligible for up to a $2,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
