BERTRAM, TX (December 19, 2024) — 31-year-old Patricia Torres-Jimenez and her daughter died in an accident on Tuesday, December 3.
 
According to the Bertram Police, multiple agencies responded to a multi-vehicle accident on Highway 29 on Tuesday night.
 
Bertram Police said Torres-Jimenez and her daughter was in their Toyota on Highway 29, preparing to turn into a laundromat on Highway 29. Then a woman in a Dodge Charger driving at highway speeds struck their vehicle.
 
Due to the impact of the accident, the Toyota went into oncoming traffic and hit a semi-truck. Then the car was pushed back into traffic and struck a BMW moving westbound on Highway 29. The car eventually came to rest on the westbound shoulder of Highway 29.
 
Responding officers found Torres-Jimenez trapped in her vehicle and dead at the scene. Her 2-year-old daughter also died from injuries sustained in the accident.
 
Meanwhile, paramedics brought the driver of the Dodge to the hospital with minor injuries. No one else sustained injuries in the crash.
 
There are no reports of filed criminal charges.
 
Authorities continue to investigate the accident.
