COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (August 20, 2024) – Officials confirmed that one person died in a pedestrian accident on Academy Boulevard on August 1.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the collision happened in a construction zone at Pikes Peak Avenue around 4:17 AM. Based on a report, the pedestrian started crossing the street at the time of the crash.
 
As a car was also coming up at the intersection, its driver was unable to stop and hit the victim.
 
As a result, the pedestrian sustained grave injuries and died at the scene. Officials did not release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
 
Police did not suspect speeding, drugs, and alcohol as factors in the crash.
