DUI Driver Involved in Fatal Car Crash on Highway 16 in Port Orchard

 
PORT ORCHARD, WA (November 8, 2022) – Police confirmed that one person died following a suspected DUI car crash on Highway 16 on November 7.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened between Southwest Sedgwick Road and Southeast Mullenix Road around 9:00 AM.
 
Based on a report, a work van was traveling west on the highway. Due to unknown reasons, it rolled over in the median, struck a tree and landed near the eastbound lane.
 
As a result, a passenger in the van died in the incident. Officials did not yet release the victim’s identity, pending kin notification.
 
Police took the driver into custody for DUI. As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
