One Dies, Motorist Ends Up Arrested After Commerce Crash on Bell Gardens

 
COMMERCE, CA (March 4, 2025) – A person died, resulting in the arrest of a motorist following a crash on Bell Gardens late Saturday night, February 22.

The fatal incident occurred after 11:00 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

Authorities stated that law enforcement initiated a pursuit on a red sedan at an intersection, for reasons still undetermined.

Amid the chase, the driver of the sedan traveled at a high rate of speed while beating red lights. This prompted officers to cancel the pursuit.

The sedan then ended up slamming into another vehicle on Bell Gardens before crashing into a bus stop.

In the process, the sedan motorist struck a suspected homeless person and another pedestrian.

The collision left the stricken homeless victim dead.

Meanwhile, the other victim had to have their legs amputated.

Officials conducted an arrest on the driver of the sedan.

The case is still under investigation, and no other details are released at this time.
