Fatal Motorcycle Accident on 84th Street South in Lakewood

 
LAKEWOOD, WA (December 26, 2024) – The Lakewood Police Department confirmed that one person died in a motorcycle accident on 84th Street South on December 11.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened shortly before 1:00 PM. Based on a report, the victim was riding a motorcycle west on the road at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle traveling east on 84th Street South and making a left turn to go north struck the motorcycle.
 
As a result, the rider suffered grave injuries and died in the incident. Officials did not release the victim’s name, pending notification of next of kin.
 
The driver of the other vehicle did not have serious injuries.
 
Crews closed the road, extending between Steilacoom Boulevard and 5 Freeway. First responders advised drivers to avoid the area and take alternate routes such as 72nd Street or 96th Street.
