Fatal Wrong-Way Accident on South Zarzamora Street in San Antonio

 
SAN ANTONIO, TX (May 28, 2024) – The San Antonio Police Department confirmed that one person died in an electric scooter accident in the 7300 block of South Zarzamora Street on May 17.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened shortly after 9:30 PM. Based on a report, the victim was driving an electric scooter northbound in the southbound lanes of the street with no lights on during nighttime hours.
 
At the same time, a red Toyota Camry was traveling southbound and did not see the victim driving the wrong way. When the scooter traveled across three lanes of traffic, it collided head-on with the vehicle.
 
As a result, the scooter rider suffered grave injuries in the incident. Officials did not release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
 
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
