Fatal Accident on Highway 36 at Church Ranch Boulevard in Westminster

 
WESTMINSTER, CO (January 13, 2025) – The Westminster Police Department confirmed that one person died in an accident on Highway 36 on January 1.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the accident happened near Church Ranch Boulevard around 1:30 AM. Based on a report, a road rage incident between the victim and another driver started an altercation.
 
The drivers pulled over on the highway where one driver left his vehicle for a confrontation. While outside his vehicle, the driver was hit by an SUV traveling westbound on the highway.
 
As a result, the man suffered grave injuries in the incident. Crews transported him to the hospital, where he later died. Authorities did not yet release the victim’s identity, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Investigators found an open container in the vehicle of the man who was hit.
 
Police said no charges have been filed pending the investigation.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
