Injury Reported in Deming Hit-and-Run on Highway 542
DEMING, WA (September 2, 2024) — One sustained injury in a hit-and-run on Highway 542 on Saturday, August 17.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the accident occurred around 3:52 p.m. on Highway 542 near Uphill Drive.
WSP said a 2015-2021 white Nissan Murano traveled eastbound on Highway 542 near milepost 24. At the same time, an orange 2024 Harley-Davidson motorcycle moved westbound on the same highway.
Then the Murano crossed the centerline and hit the motorcycle, which came to a stop on the eastbound shoulder. After that, the Murano fled the scene and continued eastbound on Highway 542.
Detectives continue to search for the Murano as a vehicle of interest. They said it probably has passenger-side damage near the front wheel. In addition, it possibly has some damage to the passenger-side mirror.
