One Killed in Chandler Car Accident on Highway 587

 
CHANDLER, AZ (September 3, 2024) — One person suffered fatal injuries in a car accident on Highway 587 on Wednesday, August 28.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the crash happened on Highway 587 near Buzzing Feather Street, south of Chandler and Sun Lakes, on Wednesday morning.
 
Arizona DPS said two vehicles crashed on the Highway 587. However, they have not released what type of vehicles were part of the collision.
 
Troopers said at least one person died in the accident. They have not yet released the victim’s identity pending notification of loved ones.
 
An Arizona Department of Transportation camera displayed several emergency vehicles that responded to the area.
 
Officers temporarily closed the highway in both directions south of Riggs Road. They urged drivers to avoid the area. The lanes have since been reopened.
 
Authorities continue to investigate what caused the crash.
