55-Year-Old Man Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Heron Street

 
ABERDEEN, WA (December 11, 2023) — A 55-year-old man died following a pedestrian crash on Heron Street on Tuesday, December 5.
 
According to the Aberdeen Police Department, officers received a call at 7:14 a.m. about a pedestrian collision on Heron Street.
 
Reports said a vehicle struck a pedestrian crossing the street away from a crosswalk. The 52-year-old Aberdeen woman driving the vehicle immediately stopped and dialed 911.
 
When officers arrived at the area of the incident, they pronounced the pedestrian dead. The coroner’s office has not yet released his identity pending notification of his next of kin.
 
Officers said impairment does not appear to have contributed to the incident.
 
Police and fire, assisted by agencies from neighboring cities, also rushed to the scene.
 
Authorities closed Heron Street for a certain amount of time, causing traffic backup. Police continue to investigate the circumstances around the incident.
