One Killed in Las Vegas Motorcycle Accident on Rancho Drive and Ricky Road

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (October 22, 2024) — A 23-year-old died in a motorcycle accident on Rancho Drive on Sunday, October 6.
 
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said the motorcycle crash occurred at about 6:30 p.m. on Rancho Drive and Ricky Road near Cheyenne Avenue.
 
Police said a truck traveled northbound on Rancho. Then it tried to make a U-turn at the intersection. The driver of the truck made a three-point turn.
 
At the same time, a motorcyclist moving southbound on Rancho laid the bike down as the rider tried to avoid an accident.
 
However, the truck hit the motorcyclist as the rider tried to slide under the truck.
 
Emergency responders brought the motorcyclist to a local hospital where they later pronounced him dead.
 
The driver of the truck remained at the scene and did not display any signs of impairment.
 
Officers closed Rancho Drive between Cheyenne Avenue and Gowan Road for several hours.
 
The crash is under investigation. The incident is the 116th traffic-related death in Metro’s jurisdiction this year.
