One Killed and Two Injured in Las Vegas Car Crash on 215 Freeway

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (June 6, 2024) — One person died and two people suffered injuries after a two-car accident on Sunday, May 26.
 
According to the Nevada State Police, the two-vehicle crash took place on the 215 Freeway, west of the Jones Boulevard off-ramp, at around 4:01 a.m.
 
The initial investigation said a 2013 Kia Optima moved eastbound on 215 Freeway at a high rate of speed. Then, it struck the back of a 2022 Toyota Corolla. After that, the Kia rotated clockwise and went across all travel lanes into the right-paved shoulder. It eventually crashed into a concrete barrier.
 
Meanwhile, The Toyota rotated counterclockwise across all travel lanes into the left paved shoulder. It also hit a concrete barrier wall.
 
Nevada State Police said paramedics brought three people to the hospital.
 
Medical officers pronounced the driver of the Toyota dead at the hospital. The Coroner’s Office has not yet released her identity pending family notification.
 
Authorities closed the 215 Freeway eastbound at Rainbow Boulevard. They also shut down the Rainbow on-ramp during the investigation. They reopened all closed accident-related areas at about 10:00 a.m.
