One Dead in Car Accident on Highway 83 [Larkspur, CO]

Fatal Larkspur Car Crash on Highway 83 and Arfsten Road

 
LARKSPUR, CO (July 10, 2024) — One person suffered fatal injuries in a car accident on Highway 83 on Friday, June 21.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, an SUV and a semi-truck crashed on Highway 82 and Arfsten Road at about 3:51 p.m.
 
CSP said they believe the SUV tried to pass traffic on the two-lane road in the oncoming lane on Highway 82. Then the two vehicles crashed head-on.
 
The driver of the SUV died in the accident. The Douglas County Coroner has not yet released the identity of the deceased pending family notification.
 
The semi-truck driver was not hurt.
 
Authorities closed Highway 83 in both directions for multiple hours between Lake Gulch and County Line until 8:20 p.m. Friday. It has since reopened.
