DUI Crash Leaves Two Officers Injured and Joel Ramirez Arrested

 
LEANDER, TX (October 18, 2022) – Joel Ramirez will face charges for DUI after a crash on Ronald Reagan Boulevard that injured two officers on October 4.

Initial reports revealed that the Leander probationary training officer was with the trainee officer sitting in the police car around 11:00 p.m. It was stalled along the shoulder of Ronald Reagan Boulevard near Palmera Ridge Boulevard with the lights off running speed radar.

Authorities clarified that the police car was far from the roadway when a beige 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe came and struck it from behind.

As a result, the officers suffered from minor injuries. St. David’s Hospital gave them medical treatment, and discharged them on Wednesday morning.

38-year-old Ramirez was also sent to the same hospital with injuries. After his recovery, Ramirez will be arrested and sent to William County Jail for DUI.
