Noah Leyma Identified in Fatal Crash with Big Rig in Amarillo
AMARILLO, TX (June 12, 2023) – Officials identified 22-year-old Noah Leyman of Newton, New Jersey who died in a wrong-way car crash on Highway 287 on June 4.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at FM 1912 shortly before 3:00 AM. Based on a report, Leyman was driving a Hyundai Sonata on FM 1912 prior to the crash.
At the same time, a big rig was headed south in the northbound lane of the highway. Subsequently, the big rig hit the victim’s Sonata.
As a result, Leyman suffered grave injuries and died at the scene.
His passenger, 22-year-old Jurnee Scott of Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, was flown to Northwest Texas Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the big rig, 33-year-old Firdavs Kubaev of Mason, Ohio, and his passenger, were not hurt in the incident.
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
