Nicholas Calloway Killed and Donnavin Brown Hospitalized after Head-On Accident

 
PECOS COUNTY, TX (August 6, 2024) — A 25-year-old from Texas identified as Nicholas Calloway died in a head-on accident on Saturday, July 20.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash took place on FM 1053 near mile marker 384 in the morning. They said it involved a 2015 Ford F-150 and a 2024 GMC Sierra.
 
The Texas DPS said 21-year-old Donnavin Brown, of Odessa, Texas, drove the Ford F-150 southbound. Then his car went into the northbound lane.
 
At the same time, Calloway drove the GMC Sierra and tried to prevent the crash by moving into the southbound lane. However, Brown’s vehicle went to the southbound lane and crashed head-on into Calloway’s vehicle.
 
Justice of the Peace Braden pronounced Calloway dead at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, Brown suffered serious injuries. Paramedics brought him to Midland Memorial Hospital for treatment.
 
Texas DPS said officers continue to investigate the crash.
