Murphy Maynard Struck and Killed by Hit-and-Run Vehicle in Amarillo

 
AMARILLO, TX (February 21, 2023) – 27-year-old Murphy Maynard of Amarillo died in a hit-and-run on Washington Street on February 14.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened in the 6100 block of the road at approximately 5:30 AM.
 
Based on a report, the victim was walking south in the far right lane of the road prior to the crash. Subsequently, a southbound full-size flatbed pickup truck struck him. After that, the vehicle continued south and turned west onto Farmers.
 
As a result, Maynard suffered grave injuries due to impact. Eventually, he died in the incident.
 
Police described the truck as dark in color, with the appearance of lights on the cab.
 
As of now, officers are asking anyone to contact the Texas DPS office at 806-477-1711 or the Amarillo Crime Stoppers tip line at 806-374-4400. In addition, an investigation into the case remains ongoing.
