Rider Killed in Hartsel Motorcycle-Truck Accident on Highway 24 and Highway 9

 
HARTSEL, CO (August 22, 2024) — A motorcycle rider died in a truck accident on Highway 24 on Sunday, August 4.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the accident occurred at around 11:38 a.m. on Highway 24 and Highway 9.
 
WSP said a semi-truck hit a motorcycle rider on Highway 24. A person who introduced themselves as a relative told a local news source that the vehicle was a large truck hauling a fifth-wheel trailer.
 
Authorities said the rider’s injuries were initially life-threatening.  A CSP officer who responded to the scene pronounced the rider dead a short time later.
 
Officers continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
