Motorcyclist Killed in Speeding Accident on Sunset Road

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (February 26, 2025) — A 36-year-old motorcyclist died after a speeding accident on Sunset Road on Monday, February 24.
 
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the crash occurred at the intersection of Sunset Road and Fort Apache Road at around 3:37 a.m.
 
Investigators determined that a 2012 Chevrolet Traverse traveled north on Fort Apache Road with a green light. At the same time, a 2024 Harley Davidson Nightster headed west on Sunset Road at a high rate of speed. Then the motorcyclist ran a red light and crashed into the right side of the SUV.
 
The impact ejected the rider from the motorcycle. A passerby attempted CPR before emergency responders arrived. However, medical personnel pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene. They only identified him as a 36-year-old man.
 
The driver of the SUV remained at the site. They also cooperated with the investigation. Authorities confirmed he did not show signs of impairment.
 
This fatality marks the 30th traffic-related death in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction for 2025.
 
Officials closed the intersection following the crash. Police advised drivers to use alternate routes.
 
The investigation remains ongoing.
