Motorcycle Rider Killed in Two-Vehicle Accident on Highway 66 near Nesting Crane Lane

 
LONGMONT, CO (August 28, 2923) — A motorcyclist died after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 66 east of Longmont on Wednesday, July 26.
 
According to Mead police, at around 9:57 p.m., first responders received reports of the accident on Highway 66 near Nesting Crane Lane.
 
Officials believe a man rode a 2007 Harley Davidson westbound on Highway 66. Then he tried to pass and went into the eastbound lanes. After that, he collided with a 2016 Kia Soul driven by a 42-year-old man from Frederick.
 
The impact of the crash ejected the motorcycle rider, a 38-year-old Berthoud man, from the motorcycle. Paramedics pronounced him dead on the scene.
 
The Kia driver remained in the area and cooperated with authorities. Mead police said they released the Kia driver from the scene with no injuries.
 
Authorities closed both lanes of Highway 66 until 1:50 a.m.
