Rider Killed and Two Others Hospitalized after Las Vegas Accident on Torrey Pines Drive and Rancho Drive

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (October 23, 2024) — A 32-year-old motorcyclist died in a two-vehicle accident on Torrey Pines Drive on Monday, October 14.
 
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the incident took place near the intersection of Torrey Pines Drive and Rancho Drive at about 7:00 p.m.
 
Police said a motorcycle traveled northbound on Rancho Drive at a high rate of speed. Then a Lincoln SUV, which moved southbound on Rancho Drive, made a left turn in front of the path of the motorcyclist.
 
After that, the motorcyclist hit the rear portion of the SUV. The impact of the collision then ejected the rider from the motorcycle.
 
Paramedics transported the motorcyclist, the 57-year-old SUV driver, and her 77-year-old passenger d to UMC Trauma Center. The motorcyclist later died from sustained injuries. The conditions of the other two were not immediately available.
 
Police said the driver of the SUV cooperated with the investigation. They said the driver did not show signs of impairment.
 
The fatality is the 123rd traffic-related death in LVMPD’s jurisdiction for 2024.
