Monica Lumbrera Struck and Killed by Vehicle on County Road 2300 in Lubbock County, Isaiah Sanchez Arrested

 
LUBBOCK COUNTY, TX (January 3, 2022) – The Lubbock Police Department identified 40-year-old Monica Lumbrera as the victim who died in a pedestrian accident on County Road 2300 on December 20.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at County Road 7700 shortly after 6:00 AM.
 
Based on a report, Lumbrera was lying in the lanes at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle driven by 24-year-old Isaiah Sanchez came and struck her.
 
As a result, Lumbrera died in the incident.
 
Later on, police located and arrested Sanchez. He was booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center and charged with murder.
 
LPD’s Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit is handling the investigation.
