Hit-and-Run Driver Michael Salas-Vicuna Arrested after Lubbock Hit-and-Run

 
LUBBOCK, TX (November 22, 2024) – Authorities arrested 27-year-old Michael Salas-Vicuna after a hit-and-run in the 200 block of Avenue Q on November 9.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened shortly after 9:00 PM. Based on a report, Salas-Vicuna was driving a passenger car when he hit a pick-up truck and fled the scene afterward.
 
Subsequently, Lubbock police located the suspect in the 1700 block of Erskine Street. Police attempted to make a traffic stop but Salas-Vicuna fled again, leading officers on a vehicle pursuit. While continuing to flee, the passenger car struck a fence at a business, along with five other vehicles and a building.
 
As a result, Salas-Vicuna suffered moderate injuries. Crews took him to University Medical Center via ambulance.
 
Officers later arrested him for evading in a motor vehicle, driving while intoxicated, and unlawful carry of a weapon. He was transported to the Lubbock County Detention Center without incident. His combined bond was set at $10,500.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
