Merilyn Cameron Struck and Killed by Vehicle in San Antonio
SAN ANTONIO, TX (August 6, 2024) – Officials identified 66-year-old Merilyn Faye Cameron who died in a pedestrian accident on Rigsby Avenue on July 22.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at South WW White Road at approximately 6:00 AM. Based on a report, Cameron was standing in the unlit roadway before the accident.
At the same time, an SUV was traveling east on Rigsby Avenue. When the SUV attempted to turn onto South WW White Road, the driver noticed Cameron and swerved to avoid hitting her. The action led a pickup truck traveling northbound on South WW White Road to swerve in the opposite direction, to avoid colliding with the SUV. The pickup truck ultimately struck Cameron.
As a result, Cameron suffered grave injuries in the incident. Emergency crews transported her to a nearby hospital, where she later died.
The drivers of both vehicles stopped to render aid.
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
