Mercedes Kuanda Struck and Killed by Drunk Driver Gabriella Anchondo on Booth Calloway Road in North Richland Hills

 
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX (January 2, 2024) – Officials identified 25-year-old Mercedes Kuanda who died in a pedestrian accident in the 4400 block of Booth Calloway Road on December 27.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened shortly before 8:30 PM. Based on a report, 26-year-old Gabriella Anchondo was driving on the road when she hit Kuanda.
 
The North Richland Hills Police Department said Anchondo was intoxicated at the time of the accident.
 
As a result, Kuanda suffered grave injuries in the incident. EMS transported her to a local hospital, where she later died.
 
Police arrested Anchondo on a charge of intoxication and manslaughter with a vehicle. They booked her into the Tarrant County jail on a $75,000 bond.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
