Melissa Johnson Identified in Fatal Rollover Crash in Loon Lake
LOON LAKE, WA (December 4, 2023) – Officials identified 39-year-old Melissa Johnson of Colville who died in a crash on Highway 395 on November 24
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened near Larson Beach Road around 7:45 AM. Based on a report, Johnson was driving a 1999 Ford F-350 south on the highway at the time of the crash.
Due to unknown reasons, she lost control of the vehicle and skidded off the road. The Ford then struck an embankment and rolled, resting on its top.
As a result, Johnson suffered grave injuries and died at the scene.
Two passengers, 36-year-old Richard Hall and 45-year-old Jessie Sylvanie, both of Kettle Falls, Washington, were injured. Crews took them to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center. None of the three occupants was wearing a seat belt.
WSP said speed caused the crash and it was unknown whether drugs or alcohol were involved.
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
