Marlyn Uribe Dies in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident in Watsonville
WATSONVILLE, CA (October 2, 2022) – Police identified Marlyn Uribe as the pregnant woman who died in a pedestrian accident on South Green Valley Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Loma Prieta Avenue shortly before 8:30 PM on September 22.
Based on a report, the 33-year-old female pedestrian was pregnant at the time of the crash. She incorrectly crossed four lanes of traffic when a white BMW struck her. Subsequently, the BMW crashed into a Ford sport utility vehicle head-on.
As a result, the Santa Cruz County Coroner’s Office pronounced Uribe dead at the scene. The driver and two passengers of the BMW suffered moderate injuries in the incident. In addition, the driver and passenger of the Ford SUV suffered minor injuries.
Investigators do not believe that speed, drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. However, police are asking that anyone who witnessed the fatal collision to call Sgt. Mike Ridgway at 831-889-8422.
