Semi-Truck Involved in Fatal Accident on 25 Freeway in Monument

 
MONUMENT, CO (December 22, 2024) – Authorities confirmed that a 34-year-old man died in a semi-truck accident on 25 Freeway on December 8.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the accident happened at Baptist Road just after midnight. Based on a report, the man was driving a northbound Toyota Camry at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, he veered off the roadway and hit a guardrail separating the two sides of the interstate. He then ended up in the southbound lanes, where he crashed into a semi-truck.
 
As a result, the man suffered grave injuries and died at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from his car. Officials did not release his name, pending notification of next of kin.
 
The crash shut down all southbound lanes between Baptist and North Gate for more than six hours.
 
The driver and passenger in the semi-truck, both 29-year-olds from Philadelphia, were wearing seat belts and were uninjured.
 
What caused the driver in the Camry to go off the road is still unknown.
