Man Dies After Being Hit in Fresno County Pedestrian Crash on Manning Avenue

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (February 27, 2025) — A man died after being struck by a vehicle in a pedestrian crash on Manning Avenue early Thursday, February 20.

The fatal incident occurred east of Zediker Avenue at around 12:50 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officials stated that a Kia Optima being driven by a 22-year-old man had headed eastbound in the No. 1 left lane of Manning Avenue.

For reasons still undetermined, the Optima slammed into a 38-year-old Parlier man, despite evasive attempts.

The force of impact sent the pedestrian into the center median, as he suffered fatal injuries.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Optima did not leave the scene, deciding to cooperate with respondents.

Authorities are still working on determining the cause and circumstances behind the crash.

As the investigation remains in progress, no additional information is released at this time.
