Bicyclist Dead in Accident on Fremont Street at East Sahara Avenue in Las Vegas

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (July 1, 2024) – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed that a man died in a bicycle accident on Fremont Street on June 8.
 
According to the Nevada State Police, the collision happened at East Sahara Avenue around 7:00 AM. Based on a report, the man was riding a bicycle going south on Fremont Street at the time of the crash.
 
When he was along the east curb, he made an abrupt turn to the west, north of a marked crosswalk. At the same time, the Ford completed a right turn from westbound East Sahara Avenue to northbound Fremont Street. At that point, the bicyclist struck the right front of the Ford and the impact knocked him to the ground.
 
As a result, the man suffered grave injuries in the incident. Emergency medical services responded and transported the bicyclist to Sunrise Hospital’s Trauma Unit, where he later died. Officials only identified him as a 61-year-old man.
 
The driver of the Ford remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police said the driver was not impaired.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
