MOJAVE, CA (January 5, 2024) — A man died after being hit by a vehicle in a pedestrian accident on Highway 58 on early Sunday morning, December 25.

The fatal incident occurred at about 1:13 a.m. near Tehachapi Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officials stated that a 61-year-old California City man had been standing on westbound Highway 58, for reasons still unknown, when a tractor-trailer slammed into him.

The force of impact inflicted fatal injuries to the male pedestrian.
