LAS VEGAS, NV (February 11, 2025) — A 53-year-old man died in a pedestrian accident on West Sunset Road on Tuesday, January 28.
 
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the accident took place on Sunset Road near South Las Vegas Boulevard.
 
Investigators determined that a 2015 Nissan Altima made a left turn on a green light. Then it struck the pedestrian. Officials said the man was crossing Sunset Road. However, he failed to obey the pedestrian traffic signal.
 
Emergency responders transported him to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Yet, he succumbed to his injuries two days later.
 
The driver of the Nissan remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment.
 
Authorities confirmed that this incident marked the 20th traffic-related death within LVMPD’s jurisdiction this year.
