Man Fatally Struck in Olympia Pedestrian Accident on Yelm Highway Southeast and Spurgeon Creek Road

 
OLYMPIA, WA (December 11, 2023) — A male pedestrian died in a pedestrian accident on Yelm Highway Southeast on Sunday, December 3.
 
According to Thurston County Sheriff’s Lt. Mike Brooks, the crash took place corner of Yelm Highway Southeast and Spurgeon Creek Road at about 7:10 p.m.
 
Brooks said deputies and Lacey Fire District 3 responded to the scene after receiving reports of a vehicle that struck a pedestrian.
 
CPR was conducted on the pedestrian before officers arrived. Emergency personnel continued CPR. However, it was unsuccessful. They then pronounced the person dead at the scene.
 
The identity of the deceased was not yet available.
 
Authorities closed the roadway for several hours.
 
Brooks said there was no sign that impairment or reckless driving caused the crash. Additionally, he said there is no crime under investigation and there were no arrests made.
