Man Killed after Electric Scooter Crash on Boulder Highway and Broadbent Boulevard

 
HENDERSON, NV (September 3, 2024) — A man died in an electric scooter accident on Boulder Highway on Monday, August 26.
 
According to the Henderson Police Department and the Henderson Fire Department, officers responded to the crash near Boulder Highway and Broadbent Boulevard at about 8:52 a.m.
 
HPD said a pedestrian rode a stand-up scooter. He moved westbound on Broadbent Boulevard in the center dividing lanes and passing cars.
 
At the same time, a black Mercedes traveled westbound on Broadbent Boulevard. Then the Mercedes made a U-turn. After that, the man on the scooter ran into the driver’s side door of the Mercedes.
 
Emergency responders brought the pedestrian to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
 
Police say the driver of the Mercedes remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. They do not believe impairment was a factor in the crash. However, they also said speed may be a factor.

Officials said the incident is the 14th traffic-related death in 2024 under the jurisdiction of Henderson’s police.
