SACRAMENTO, CA (November 30, 2022) — A male pedestrian died while Bobby Thomas was detained after a hit-and-run on 29th Street and Gardendale Road on Monday night, November 21.

The fatal collision occurred in the Meadowview neighborhood at around 10:00 p.m., according to the Sacramento police.

Authorities did not disclose the details leading up to the incident but confirmed that an adult man had been struck by a vehicle being driven by the 60-year-old Thomas.

Respondents pronounced the unidentified man dead at the scene.

Thomas drove away from the crash site before officials arrived to the scene. They later located Thomas at a nearby residence.

Police booked Thomas into the Sacramento County Main Jail on charges of gross vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence.
